Products recalled due to unlisted nut allergen

LANDOVER, Md., Sept. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Giant Food has announced a
voluntary recall of certain Giant bakery products manufactured by Grandma Taylor and sold in Giant's Bakeshop as the items could contain nut allergens that are not declared on the labels. These products were
manufactured on a line that contains various nuts. All affected products
were removed from store shelves.

The following products are affected by this recall, if purchased on or
before September 24, 2008:

-- Giant Rainbow Cake UPC 210725808991

-- Giant Mundel Bread UPC 201500305590

-- Giant Rugalah - Raspberry UPC 201575808453, Cinnamon Raisin Nut UPC 201576000092, Chocolate Chip UPC 201575500098

-- Giant Hamatashen - Cherry UPC 201760703297, Prune UPC 201577603292, Poppy UPC 201578001295, Apricot UPC 201576201291, Assorted Varieties UPC 201550003996

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to nut products run
the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume
these products. To date, no illnesses have been reported.
