Last night went to a Texas style BBQ joint. Brisket, sausage and sides were great, but the burnt ends were not quite there. Got into a "Q" conversation with one of the owners and was treated to a tour of their pits.

It's been a busy week with subbing everyday for a teacher that its chemo for 4 days the first week of every month.

Thursday was a half day so teachers could do report cards so on the way home stopped at my granddaughter's school to pick her up and watch her for the afternoon while her parents worked. We made personal pizza's and also had one ready when my son picked her up. Hers was a cheese pizza. She prefers to eat the ingredients before they are put together, though. Mine had kalamata olives, pepperoni, chopped green onions, anchovies, and mozzarella on naan. I used Muir Glen Organic Pizza Sauce which was quite good.

Last evening, on the way home from school, I stopped at Famous Dave's for catfish and discovered they have shuttered their doors. I often wondered how they stayed in business since they were never very busy. I liked it because their bar was more like a quiet pub. I then headed to Bob's Burgers and had calamari for an appy and the "seafood platter" which was cod and prawns. It was all good.

So dinner became lunch at DQ.
I got a burger meal along with the grandkids.

DIL got these from her friend Manuel, for dinner.
Mega bread, steak, onion, tomato, hot pepper, cheese and avocado.
Ugh, I couldn't eat the whole thing.
It was delicious though.
I'll tackle the other half later.

These were quite good. Comes with a lemony tartar sauce that's pretty tasty, too.

I keep checking my supermarket for Budweiser-battered cod.

Now I'm going to have to search for those crab poppers, Lee lol

Yum Lucky!
I love the salad.
The steak looks perfect too.
Nice plate. I'm going with a plain coloured plate from now on (mostly)- depending on what I make, it can make the presented meal look too busy.

Last night I grilled a prime ribeye from Stewart's Meats and also did some Polish sausage for breakfast meals the next few days. I also made some BBQ beans to go with.:weber:
