Default Cleaning Copper-Bottoms

Whenever you empty a jar of dill pickles, use the leftover juice to clean the copper bottoms of
your pans. Just pour the juice in a large bowl; set the pan in the juice for about 15 minutes.
Comes out looking like new.

If you can't wait for the pickle jar to be empty, use ketchup on them. It works too !

This also works on brass items.

If you use salt along with lemon juice or ketchup it will work really well, too.

Those are great tips and the only copper I have is a 1qt bowl I use to beat egg whites in. All my cooking stuff is 3 ply stainless, or cast iron.

This is a great tip, Lucky. Since it works on brass, too, this is very useful for me. Thank you.

Try ketchup. If you have outdated or leftover ketchup, it does work.

I have a set of copper bottoms that need a good cleaning. I wonder if this process is due to the vinegar in ketchup and pickle juice?
