Better Than Pecan Walnut Pie

In my opinion, this is better than pecan pie, and I love pecan pie.

Better Than Pecan Walnut Pie

3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 cup sugar
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup Karo (I used light.)
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Combine all and pour in a 9" pie shell. Place walnuts on top in a single layer.

Bake in the lower third of the oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 35 to 45 minutes, or until the center appears to be set.

Mmm You got my attention .... How many walnuts do you use for this recipe?

To answer that, I guess someone with a very accurate scale would have to weigh a bag of walnut halves (if the bag is only partially full) before and after preparing the pie.

Recipes can say Pecan Pie, but if I just have walnuts & not pecans, I then use whatever I might have on hand between the two.

Otherwise, if I have both, but not enough of either one, then the two are combined for the pie. :piesmiley1::eating2:
