SOUP....beef flavored with tiny meatballs.
I just fried two burgers in onions. A little addition to hold something to bite, besides a spoon full of peas and corn floating in my bowl.

I sliced the sausages with the casings still on, plopped them in the pan and browned them.
The casings stayed on and formed them into little meatballs!
Added, peppers, onions, fresh minced garlic, tomato sauce, cream and a splash of chicken broth, oregano and basil.
Oh my!
Toasted a slice of bread, buttered and sprinkled with parmesan.
Delicious.

the Honeybells are in! bit late this year - with half-bushel,
IMG_0616.jpg

opted to for orange glazed salmon. there are a lot of orange glazes for salmon....some get carried away. the basic recipe is very hot sear flesh side to develop a nice crust, flip & sear skin side, glaze, finish in oven...

sc1.jpg

the glaze is dead simple - but time required to reduce.
fresh squeezed OJ
spoon of Dijon
2 spoons of brown sugar.
reduce and strain

Change of plans. DD's ordered Asian delivery.

Hub and I had short rigatoni and tomato sauce.

Oh yes!
That glaze would be great on salmon.
I like the idea of finishing it off in the oven too.

Hub and I had short rigatoni and tomato sauce.
The other day, when I made the rigatoni and beans and onions, I drained the rigatoni when they were cooked, and I sliced each one in 3 (threes ) .
Is that patience or what? hahahahahaha

'Round these parts, we call it a "California Burger", just no Avocado ...(Ugh !)
Don't like avocado either... It's the mouth taste thing ... It smells like carbide.
Like eating pipe dope when it's whipped into a dip. I forget what they call it.

I love Avocado -(Again I am in California) My next door neighbor has a huge Avocado tree that hangs over the fence. I do not have to pay for the expensive pieces of fruit. But yes Lucky, I do not put it on my burgers either.

We had an impromptu ground beef stroganoff. Craig was tired of cooking since he's been doing nearly all of it this week given a mobility issue I've been having, so it was either order something out or have something easy for me to cook sitting down mostly. We only had white button mushrooms, but did have dried porcini and porcini powder, so I used the porcini powder to make the saucy part. Came out pretty darn good. We may even skip using the canned mushroom soup we usually use, but didn't have, from now on.

Tonight's tentative plans are waffles made with whey from last batch of homemade yogurt (makes them so fluffy) with corn (bi-color that I cut off cobs and froze) and bacon crumbles added to the batter. Toppings to choose from will be butter, syrup, cinnamon sugar, sour cream, homemade yogurt, fresh strawberries, banana, cherry preserves and other assorted preserves/jams.

Unless someone wants something else.

Car is in shop. Waiting to see how much that's going to cost.

May use bread maker to make dough for more sausage bread and maybe a small loaf of cinnamon raisin bread.

Tonight's plan ;
Winner, Winner ............!

Chicken dinner? Lol

Sorry to hear about the car, Peeps.

Yup, just got back from the grocery store.
Found two lovely fresh salmon filets for dinner tonight.
And a huge porterhouse steak for next week.
Peeps! I got more Mama Mary crusts, this time the tuscan. I took a pic of the pepperonis while I was there.

Thank you, Chowderman for the salmon inspiration!
I pan seared in oil on medium high for about 2-3 mins per side. Oven 425 10 mins.
Perfect!
The orange glaze is a keeper.
Salad is baby spinach, walnuts and blueberries dressed with Panera Bread Home balsamic vinaigrette.
