LOL...........that's the way we've always made them, I never saw them in circles until a few days ago. Maybe next time I'll try that way........do you think they'll taste the same. hahaha

My Hungarian mother in law used this recipe.

1 pkg of cream cheese, softened
1 cup butter, softened
2 1/4 cups flour

Mix well and divide into four balls. Rest in the refrigerator over night so the flour relaxes.

Roll out the dough between sheets of wax paper until it is 1/4" thick. Cut into squares.

She used different fillings. One was crushed pineapple with the juice reserved. She's add sugar to the pineapple until it was sweet enough to her taste. She'd add around a Tbs of corn starch to thicken the pineapple adding juice as needed.

She made these for my wedding reception in pineapple and apricot. They didn't last very long.

When they were finished cooking she'd sprinkle them with powdered sugar.

LOL! I was going to comment on it, but couldn't think of anything post-worthy!

Barb sent me a box of her baked goods samplings one year at Christmas time.
These were included and were superb!
