^ I need extra wool socks when I look that picture.

The autumn cleaning of the garden continues, still a lot of work to do. I found few carrots, quite small ones:

and last onions:

More and more leaves everywhere but days have been so windy that raking has to wait:

In the compost beds they will became new soil for my garden.

Still quite much cleaning here:

What is your dog's name, Chowderman? Looks as if he's not bothered by snow!

Saliha, your sunflowers are beautiful - they did a lot better than my critter-eaten sunflowers!

sigh. that's Max - part Chow. he departed sometime back - he was my gardening buddy, loved to have a snowball bite (ie playing catch with a snowball....)

never got a video of it - when he was a youngster he'd "bound along" - looked like an antelope - boink boink boink .... funny to watch - especially in the snow.

The first snow came today. We don´t expect that it will stay more than maximum few days.

Garden is clean and tidy for sowing - only I need to build the fence:

G6yRzbW.jpg

There are some flowers already:

Marigold seedlings are ready:

And asters too:

JaV4MoG.jpg

Dahlia is waiting when it´s the right time to plant it (few cold nights coming, so it has to wait):

Rhubarb which I moved to new bed grows well:

Bergenias have started to flower too:

In general, growing is still a little late from the normal schedule but it means that now everything grows fast, maybe faster than in normal year.

And what´s the most important - my forest is green again:

Here are some pictures of my happy place.

My cardinal friend who shows up every morning, the swing and area for relaxing, and my petunia pot.

Lovely yard, Sass! I am a fan of cardinals, too, although my condo association has banned birdfeeders, dammit, so I don't see as many as I once did.

Have you named yours?

I like this little blurb that I read online:

" A cardinal is a representative of a loved one who has passed. When you see one, it means they are visiting you. They usually show up when you most need them or miss them.

They also make an appearance during times of celebration as well as despair to let you know they will always be with you.

Look for them, they’ll appear."

Soon it´s the time of lupins:

They start late at this year like everyhting as the spring was so cold. But better later than never.

Not many flowers on the apple tree. Not as much like at the last year.

Look who found it's way to my back patio.

I've always heard they'll become frightened and bite.

Nope, gentle little baby.

It´s the time of roses:

Herb bed is full. I already harvested some mints and anise hyssop to give more space to other plants.

View to the garden is quite typical how it looks at June. In the frame in the forefront is runner beans and morning glories.
