Re: Your Favorite Frankfurter/Hot Dog Recipes?

As I'm of 100% Czech origin, I'm certainly no stranger to "good" sausage. Luckily, I've managed to find one of the only companies still supplying such wonderful stuff as "Jeternice" (aka "White Jets"...

Last night we enjoyed a new Martha Stewart recipe for "Eggplant Rollatini". Quite easy & delicious. Served with a green salad & garlic bread.

Re: Your Favorite Frankfurter/Hot Dog Recipes?

Thanks for the ideas. I've already added some to a soup that I'd normally add kielbasa to, & the dogs are already commiserating with me re: what to do with the rest - lol!!!

Your Favorite Frankfurter/Hot Dog Recipes?

I'm putting this in "Meats", even though I'll be using "turkey franks". Same difference, recipe-wise.

Last month, hubby (who loves turkey franks) fell prey to a local market's sale - "buy one,...

Re: Kraft Fresh Take seasoning mixes

I believe they have to be in the dairy aisle because they contain fresh grated/shredded cheese. I'd bet they're probably around where the bags of shredded cheese are.

Re: Tuesday 4/10/2012 What's in the pot?

Last night we enjoyed spicily-seasoned roasted chicken wings - half tossed with "Parmesan-Garlic" sauce; half with "Hot Barbeque" sauce. Blue-cheese dressing for dipping, of course. :)

Re: Monday 4/9/2012 What's on the menu?

Last night I cooked & enjoyed my first solid meal since last Wednesday. Yay!!

Probably wasn't the best choice for intestinal recovery, but my rule is "if I have a real taste for it, it most...

Re: Easter Sunday 4/8/2012 What will be on the table?

Unfortunately, I've been sick since Thursday, so although I had a wonderful roast duck dinner planned, it went by the wayside. Didn't want to thaw out the duck only to find I had no desire to either...

Re: Artist Thomas Kinkade dies in California at age 54

I'm sorry the man died so young, but frankly, never cared for his style of painting. Not to mention, as others have stated, his stuff was everywhere.

Re: Wednesday 4/4/2012 So what's the meal plan?

I heated up a quart of Spicy Rotel Cabbage Soup I had in the freezer, & accompanied it with grilled turkey ham & Jarlsberg cheese on rye toast sandwiches.

Re: Breezy Rigatoni with Greens and Feta

They really cook down to nothing, so are perfect for small dishes. If I was making this for a larger group, I'd definitely buy several bags.

Re: Breezy Rigatoni with Greens and Feta

Yes, they're a bagged fresh greens mix that just started showing up at one of our local markets (Martins). Large 13.5 ounce bags of beautiful baby greens. The market has only been carrying them for...

Re: Favorite lasagna noodle brand?

I'm so glad Lee. Like I said before, I've NEVER been disappointed in ANY Barilla products. I use their no-boil noodles all the time for many different lasagna recipes, & have yet to be disappointed...

Last night we had sliced grilled turkey kielbasa accompanied by boiled & butter-sauteed whole-grain potato & 5-cheese pierogies. Sour cream on the side, of course. :)

Well, even though it's a duplicate of last week, we had outdoor-grilled turkey burgers again since it was such a nice evening. As a twist, used Shady Brook Farms's "Italian Seasoned" ground turkey...

Re: cracker barrel hashbrown casserole?

Thanks for the recipe - I enjoy that too at Cracker Barrel (well, the few time they're not out of it). That does make a LOT of casserole for 2 people. Do you think leftovers would freeze well?

Re: POACHED EGGS FLORENTINE

Lol!! Yeah, I know. I'm committing egg sacrilege. Just can't stand the texture of runny eggs. Same reason I don't care for raw oysters. Cooked through - I adore them. Raw - no thanks.

When we go...

Re: POACHED EGGS FLORENTINE

I make something similar, but a bit simpler.

I cook up some spinach - fresh, frozen, whatever - & drain thoroughly. Then line a baking dish with it. I top the spinach with how ever many poached...
