I didn't see a thread for this yet.
I was just going to post a pic of Pierce. Many of you might remember the pup that used to be in one of my avatars. This was taken last week while he was wandering around the office. His breeder wanted to see some candid body shots. Seventeen months old now. Almost time for Mr Pierce to meet Mr Scissors  He just needs to fill out a little more. And a pic (sniff) of when he was just a little tyke. How fast they grow.
And it wouldn't be complete without a pic of Tursa, my Presa Canario and Petra, my GSD. And yep. Gotta cat, too. Nova, an Oriental SH.
Show 'em if ya gottem!

That cutie on the bottom looks just like a pit we used to have. Loved that dog. She was so kind and sweet. David (24 years old now) used to ride around on her back like she was a horse. They both loved it.

Yeah, before I got one I thought they looked like APBTs, too, but totally different head and body type. It's hard to see in that pic. Same friendly dispostion (to humans) though. My next dog might be a pitty. Tursa's in her twilight.... 9 years old....

We think she thought she was a dog. She loved to have her belly rubbed all the time. She even slept upside down like this. Boy we miss her.

Sorry to hear about Airy and Ophelia. I think last time we talked pets you still had them.
How long did it take you to frame Lassie with that Bobby Flay book in the background? lol Just jokin' Cooking reference and all....
I might go out to Pierce's breeder in a couple weeks. She has one litter a year and has some seven week olds she's going to be temperament testing. In other words, it will be a small party for us dog folk, lol. Gotta love puppies.

Here's my Bloo. I'm sorry to say, I had to bring her to the vet this morning for a growth she has on her chest. Somehow her skin broke, it doesn't look good. I hope the Doc can get her in soon. I bought some very small t-shirts for her so she wouldn't lick it.

So nice that you guys keep, and post, pictures of those furry loved ones who have passed on.
Jeekins, my healing, positive thoughts are with you and Bloo. Gonna be okay.
Here's my chubby-loafer, 12 year old Bud. I'm a one-cat woman, always has to be a male grey tiger. I've never had a dog. I'm happy with my tabby guys.

Yeah, Dog and Bird... I used to take care of a cat named Puppy. I love a good play on names.
Keep us (me) informed on Bloo, Jeeks. I like to keep up with such things. I take it it wasn't just a sebaceous cyst then? I hope it turns out to be nothing.

Nope I didn't my 3 year old grandson did the same with Bird. Now they are 2 years old and my grandson is 5. The name do fit them though since Dog acts more like a dog than a cat and bird always want to get in the highest place in the room. Manx are extremely entertaining cats, know as a man's cat.

LOL...We had a very large black lab named Kitty.
Not sure about the growth yet. Took x-rays, may be larger inside near the lungs. Just waiting for lab results now.
I had a cat I named Rover. He was far too dignified for the name, so after him, I vowed to name pets human names.

Ohh, she's beautiful!! That shiny coat!!
Thanks! :D
They call the color 'Blue' for some reason. When she was a pup her fur looked and felt like velvet. So soft.
She was mistaken for a Weimaraner when she was a pup. Most don't realize she's a Great Dane since we did opted not to dock her ears.

SK, she is so cute!! You will have to post pics of the niece when you get her.
Smoke King, this is for you. I know the hurt well. Someone was kind enough to share this with me when I lost my first Great Dane totally unexpected.
LEND ME A PUP
I will lend to you for awhile,
a pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives
and mourn him when he's dead.
Maybe twelve or fourteen years,
or maybe two or three.
But will you, 'till I call him back,
take care of him for me?
He'll bring his charms to gladden you
and (should his stay be brief)
you'll always have his memories
as solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
since all from earth return
But there are lessons taught below
I want this pup to learn.
I've looked the whole world over
in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowd life's land
I have chosen you.
Now will you give him all your love
Nor think the labour vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take
my sweet Pup back again?
I fancied that I heard them say
"Dear Lord Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring,
the risk of grief we'll run.
We'll shelter him with tenderness,
we'll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we've known
forever grateful stay
But should you call him back
much sooner than we've planned,
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand.
If, by our love, we've managed,
your wishes to achieve
In memory of him we loved,
to help us while we grieve,
When our faithful bundle
departs this world of strife,
We'll have yet another Pup
and love him all his life.

Doc just called, so far the blood and urine tests are fine. Still waiting for one more lab result in a day or two. Then we can proceed wih the surgery. I can't wait.
The growth, we believe, is just a fatty growth that ulcerated. She's on antibiodics and I've been cleaning it with diluted Betadine. It's right on her chest so I bought some little kids t-shirts to keep her from licking it and to protect it.

Had a minor scare.... The Doc looked over the xrays and saw what he thought to be a growth near/on her lungs. He could see something on one film but not the other. He said if there was in fact something there, it would be inoperable. (gulp)

ok you ready for this? lol ... i have LOTS of pets. I will start with the ones no longer with us.
This is Cedes. She was (so we were told) part Akita part German Shepard. She was the most gorgeous dog ever. We had to give her away when I got pregnant with my youngest, she would growl at me if I got near her and she tore up Kyle's bedding from his crib. I was afraid she would continue this behavior after Kyle was born, so I made the decision to give her up. I miss her alot.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/cedes.jpg
This is Tiger, the day before we put her down. I found her when I was 9 yrs. old. We had to have her put down Nov. 21, 2006. She was 21 years old. She was the most fantastic cat ever. When you picked her up, she would wrap her arms around your neck and hug you. It is still hard to look at pictures of her.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/tiger.jpg
This is Sasha. She got loose this past summer and we have only seen her twice since then.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/sasha.jpg
This is Charlie. We got him 2 weeks before we had to put Tiger down. He is my special little guy because he got me through her death. There is no denying that he is my cat.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/charlie.jpg
This is Toby. I think he is a rat terrier. I personally do not like this dog at all. He is my husbands. He is mean, annoying, etc ... But, he has been with us for almost 5 years and of something happened to him, it would break my heart - but I still do not like him. LOL
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/toby.jpg
This is Milo. It got him during my grieving process of loosing Tiger. He was really supposed to be more my husband, but he is an everybody cat. You can do anything to this cat and he just lays there. Someone told me he was a ragdoll breed? He, other then Tiger, is probably the best cat ever. Anyone that meets him wants to take him home.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/milo.jpg
This is Anna. She came from Sasha's & Charlie's litter. She was is the only female animal we have and she has the worst temperment. She is not very friendly at all - unless she is in heat, but she is beautiful.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/anna.jpg
This is Jasper, Anna's brother. He is my attitude boy. He just started to become lovable. He is our spaz cat.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/jasper.jpg
This is Ollie. He is Anna & Jasper's brother. He is another extremely lovable, can do anything to him cat. He is the most playful out of them all.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/ollie.jpg
This is Titan. His name does not fit with my others because he was named before we got him. I got him for my husband because he wanted a big dog. He is absolutely amazing with the kids. He is still in his puppy stage and chews EVERYTHING - but he is a very good dog.
http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/smedlie/titan.jpg
And because my mom [homecook] doesn't know how to post pictures ... this is her cat Phoenix. She is a rolly polly! She has the coolest markings in her and the softest and shiniest coat.

She was, but then one day stopped trying to escape. No idea why, but something must have made her decide she doesn't want to leave the yard, LOL!
Up until then, if she got out it was a chase! Man, we had so many close encounters with cars, people around here fly thru the streets (we are on a side street next to a school no less!) and don't stop for nothing not even kids let alone a pet.

Lots of you know how Max i Cat came to live in my house. Officially, she's taken over, I'm little more than a glorified servant to her. But, she sleeps by my head every night and that makes everything worth it.
Here are some recent pictures of her - she's taken to playing with the lace curtain that hangs behind the bed. She's also fond of laying in the window sill, that's why I leave the curtains parted for her.

You know....I was thinking about that this morning. Max came to me in the winter, and all the windows were closed. The first time I opened a window to let the air in she was up on the sill in about 5 seconds. I was wondering what I was going to do for her (because, after all, it's all about serving her now:flowers:) when I had to close the windows again. I've been in plenty of pet stores but have never seen those shelves. Any thoughts on who carries them?

The cat named Bird (in the first picture farthest from the door) wakes my wife every morning around 4 AM nibbling on her chin to remind her it is time for their breakfast. My wife gets up like a dutiful servant and feeds them before going back to bed. He never does that to me and knows he bites my chin but will lick it.

I love brindle puppies, FM. 'Twas a very lucky day for Bella, too. Thanks, Sam. It's funny - she isn't the most attractive dog as far as her coloring, etc. And when I first got her, she was pretty thin and dirty and in poor condition. So I named her Bella because she needed something beautiful about her and also, Fisher was a toddler and he could say Bella pretty easily. But now, because of her sweet disposition, I think she is the most beautiful dog I've ever seen.
This is my baby....Maya...she's a border collie mix.

The trick is a pitchfork, but those are too expensive, so I use a horse poop type shovel scoop :thumb:
those things really scoop into a large pile of mulch/bark. Like a fork through mashed potatoes.

Oooooh PET PICS!
OK Then!
First, dearly departeds, so they won't feel left out.
CJ The Bichon... rescued from evil owners, had a tumor on his hip literally explode one day, couldn't care less. Quite the god, uh dog:

Ajax, my Mom's Dog. Until he got old, you didn't touch him unless he knew you as a puppy or Mom said OK. Good thing he knew me as puppy, because I inherited him when she died.. and he had diabetes, needed daily shots. egads!

Scratch the cat. Three times in my life, I've been lonely and wanted a cat, and three times, one just showed up within a month. This big guy was the last. Very laid back 16 pounder...

And finally, Rosie the 6 foot corn snake. (Never got a picture of Octavia the tarantula.. ) These were my scientist wife's pets from when she taught HS biology and was given pets when the owners got tired... Which also included 2 rats and a cannibalistic hamster!

OK, now the cats!
First is Rocky, Queen of All She Domains. 16 years old, wife raised her from bottle feeding. Sadly, has a tumor or something on her side...
She HATES to have pictures taken, so we don't have many, but will soon, hehehehe
http://i247.photobucket.com/albums/gg126/wyheel/Rocky2008.jpg
Then there are Baxter and Duke, brothers from the same litter, identical markings..
Duke is MAYBE 7 pounds, Baxter is 21...
Duke at work, guarding ephemera...

All are loved! Duke and Rocky are very similar, love to sleep with Mom.
Baxter is our CatDog, because he acts much like them. Goes out, comes when called, thinks he wants to walk, but hates leash...

Great pics, Kimchee.
That scolded look Nemo pup has is priceless.
Awwwww, I love all the new pet pictures! You guys have beautiful animals!
When I showed Bud the new pictures, he said, "Eh". He's not as easily impressed as I am.

That white dog is Nellie. Part lab, part golden retriever, we think. Great dog! Had to convince her to try out swimming by showing her how it was done, when she was a pup.
precious pics!

Here's a pic of my kitty "on catnip".......he gets all wild-like. We put catnip in those holes, and when he sharpens his claws, the catnip goes to his head. This little claw pad works wonders too. He no longer claws the sofa.......thank goodness.
