When I lived in Maryland, I lived on Kent Island and had shop in Baltimore. So I had to drive over the Bay Bridge daily.

It's kinda sick, but it would really aggravate me when they had a jumper. It seemed they usually jumped right before I got to the bridge. They'd block the whole thing off. Probably 6-12 a year.

It IS really sad. I always wonder what leads to them doing that. :(

How could you drive your car, get out, walk over to the edge and go? What if halfway down, you start thinking, why did I just do this? Terrible.

But once you hit the water, it is probably over. Even though one or two jumpers from the rte 50 Bay Bridge survived.

Then, there was the radio comentators - their newsflash went something along these lines - somebody jumped from the Key Bridge one morning. They found the body and pulled it out. Attached to the body were about a dozen Blue Crabs. So they pulled the crabs off and threw the body back in for more.

I guess you had to live on "the shore" to understand.........
