I don't know a good knife from a bad knife. So I need help.
Last night she added a knife to her wish list. A pearing knife in particular.

Pearing knifes are for sale everywhere but I do not know brands nor could a pick a good one from a bad one.

I also like the big whompping knife that yous guys showed here a week or so ago. It looked like a cleaver but was very versitle in the kitchen if I read you right.

My pocket book is limited for sure. I know I won't spend 100+ on a pearing knife. If they run that much just let me know so I don't have false expectations.

TIA.

Shun Classic 3.5" paring knife with the cheapest place to buy it being http://www.cutleryandmore.com/details.asp?SKU=5280 They also have a left handed version though my wife is a lefty and I'm right handed she uses my right handed one without problems. Don't waste the money on anything more than the classic. Another option is the Misono Moly 80mm No 534 at http://www.japanesechefsknife.com/MolybdenumSeries.html which is a couple of bucks cheaper with only $7 shipping. I buy a lot of knives from both but JCK is the best bar none.

A good knife cuts easily. A bad one does not
