Wow--perfection! One of these days I'm going to try baking some bread without the aid of a breadmaker.

This is what I did this morning.

Now we just need some Plotchman's yellow mustard and a pile of thin sliced corned beef to pay homage to that gorgeous bread. Oh, and a big ass garlic dill pickle and a chocolate chip cookie...just like they used to make up for the working man's lunch from Davis Bakery. :chef: $4.99 To Go.

Wow--perfection! One of these days I'm going to try baking some bread without the aid of a breadmaker. No time like the present. Do you have a stand mixer? I use my KitchenAid to make most of my breads. If you want to get your feet wet with no-knead bread, check out this recipe with a link (http://flyfishohio.us/NoKneadBread.htm) to the video showing how to do it.

This is a loaf of no-knead with 2T of mixed Italian herbs...

Qsis, this does have caraway seeds in it. It's hard to tell but I actually put more in than the recipe called for because I love em.

Joe, funny you should say that. I actually made the bread because I made some corned beef on Monday and needed some bread to make a sandwich. LOL I also have the Plotchman's. Polish dill on the side.

You were obviously a Girl Scout since you are so well prepared. How was din-din last night with the birthday boy?

Actually I never was. lol

Dinner went well. We took Andrew, his girlfriend and two other friends to the Winking Lizard downtown. (yeah, I know there's one in Mentor) He wanted to go downtown. Go figure. Typical bar type food, wings, wraps, burgers, beer, etc. We had a good time!
He's going with his friend to see Jeff Dunham tonight at the Wolstein Center. His b-day present.

I do have a stand mixer, and these pic's are sure making me want to give bread making a try. Maybe this weekend.
