Payday Yummies

10 c rice or corn Chex
2 c peanuts
1 c Karo syrup
1 c sugar
1 c peanut butter
1 t vanilla

Mix syrup and sugar 'til boiling. Add vanilla and peanut butter.
Stir until peanut butter is melted.
Pour over Chex and peanuts that you've placed in a large bowl-mixing well.

Cool and break up, or press onto a large sheet to desired thickness, and cut into bars.

Sass - I'm speechless I haveta do this. I'm wondering about subbing some molasses for all or ppart of the Karo.

I take it that you don't like molasses.

Mom used to make a sugar molasses stickey substance and we would dump it in a pot of popcorn and rub butter on our hands and make popcorn balls.

I do like molasses, but I don't think it would work well for this.

Possibly not. It may not work with the peanut butter.
