I'm watching a food network show, and the looks like Tyler from Tyler Ultimate. He was saying he used butter milk on top of the flour as a dredge process? So how would that work when you made a butter milk batter that you used from 2 different recipes?

Thanks Derek,

Slice your onions, separate the rings. Dredge them in flour or corn starch. This will help to soak up any moisture on the outside of the onion ring so that the batter will stick. Next, dip your rings in the batter and then directly into the fryer. Drain on paper towels.

They're grown in south Georgia and they won't start shipping them until the end of April or beginning of May so we've got a couple more weeks to wait..

Have you thought about growing your own Derek? Maybe put one of those Aerogardens on your wish list for your birthday or Christmas.

Have you thought about growing your own Derek? Maybe put one of those Aerogardens on your wish list for your birthday or Christmas.Way ahead of you Mama, I have cayenne's, Habenero's, Jalapeno's growing right now but I can't find anyone who has any scotch bonnet plants.

By the way the Aerogarden is on my wish list and so is a pasta maker.

I don't know a whole lot about hot peppers Derek, but aren't Habenero's and Scotch Bonnets pretty close to the same thing?

They are the same species separated but the distance from the Caribbean to Central America. I honestly think they are the same with minor differences in appearance though they really taste exactly the same with the same heat ranges.

I have an AeroGarden and I don't think they can grow a root plant like an onion. Now I grow cayenne's, Habaneros, Jalapeņos, 2 types of basil, flat leaf parsley, chives, tarragon, thyme year around using mine as well as my garden window. We also have a hell of a batch of wild scallions growing right now that are getting huge. A lot of this stuff will grow fine in pots in the house if you have light most of the day getting to them.

I have the AeroGarden 6 Elite + which will grow anything they offer. I grow all my spice/herbs in it but grow my peppers in pot in my garden window which I have a heater in for during the winter. It is 4' square by 20" deep with 2 shelves. I grow other things in their as well such as catnip which keeps my cats from eating the herbs/spices. I also grow my chives out side year around as the cold doesn't seem to bother them or scallions at all. Next week we will plant some cucumber, egg plant and move the peppers out to the garden starting over with seeds in the fall. I also grow dill and rose mary in the AeroGarden which I forgot to mention.

I haven't had a problem with mine with the lights so I would assume they did (had mine now about 8 months). I don't grow the pepper in this as this is more like a hydro-phonic system as there is basically a test tube with plant food and seeds and no soil at all. Now it does grow quickly but I've never tried peppers with it at all. Those I grow in soil and pots in my garden window during the winter then replant them in the outside garden area as soon as the weather gets over 50 regularly. I then get the seeds from them and replant taking the best two plants and keeping them going through the winter in my window. I haven't grown the Bhuts yet but will plant a couple of seeds this weekend in the outside garden and see.
