Creamed Carrots

4 cups carrots, sliced
3 Tbs. butter or margarine
1 Tbs. onion, chopped
3 Tbs. flour
1½ cup milk
1 cup grated cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 350°

Cook carrots in boiling water. Drain; season with salt and pepper. Place in a greased casserole dish. Melt butter. Add onion, cook until tender. Add flour and stir until smooth. Add the milk, slowly, stirring constantly. Cook until thickened. Add cheese and stir until melted.

Pour sauce over carrots; stir gently. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
