View Full Version : Ranchero Pot Roast

3 lbs flat roast
2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
2 tbsp shortening
1 c beef broth
1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 c chili sauce

Rub salt, pepper, paprika and garlic into meat. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next day brown the meat slowly on all sides in the shortening. Place on rack on deep pan. Add broth and onion. Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add chili sauce and cook another 20 minutes.

Try it!

I was raised with chili powder, cumin, cilantro, and garlic in almost everything.
If it doesn't bite back a little it's not hot enough!
