View Full Version : Garlicky Honey Meatballs

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 beaten egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon steak sauce
1/4 teaspoon onion salt
1 tablespoon butter
6 minced garlic cloves
1 cup stewed tomatoes, with juice
1/2 cup minced onion
1/3 cup liquid honey
1/8 cup soy sauce
1 teaspoon cornstarch


Meatballs:

Combine first 6 ingredients in large bowl. Mix well. Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls. Arrange in single layer on ungreased baking sheet. Bake in 500 F oven for 10 to 12 minutes until browned. Transfer to ungreased casserole dish.

Honey Garlic Sauce:

Melt butter in medium saucepan on medium. Add garlic and onion. Heat and stir is soft but not browned.

Puree tomatoes and honey. Add to pan, Stir.

Stir soy sauce into cornstarch in small bowl until smooth. Stir into tomato mixture. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.

Pour sauce over meatballs. Bake, uncovered, in a 350 F oven for about 20 minutes until meatballs are glazed.

i wish i was eating where you are right now..lol

i have friends that use to go down to Oaxaca every year. i have a friend that owns a "bar" there as well..(not really a bar but cool beverages out of coolers..lol)
