Is this the right forum for grilling questions?
At any rate, how long should I let a 2" thick ribeye sit out of the fridge to come up to room temperature?

i let mine sit out for 30-45 mins when i buy steaks i usually
get them about an inch and a half thick ...
i do not know if this is too long on the counter or not ..

That depends on your definition of BBQ (lol).
I'd leave it out about an hour. A lot really depends on how cold your fridge is and how warm the area is where you plan on leaving it out. But that's what I'd do.

I understand that, but there is a forum for BBQ and a forum for Cooking Outside the Kitchen.

I thought cooking outside would have covered both, but now we have a BBQ forum, too. Sometimes it gets tough trying to figure out which forum to ask something in for sure. As long as the food gets cooked! lol

I would say 40-60 minutes. Are you doing a marinade? How are you going to grill it?

I just looked out back and my grill looks frozen to the deck. I will probably dry brine it and pan sear it...
A two inch think steak not frozen I would guesstimate about 1 hour. Frozen could take a whole day or more.
