To me tires make a TITANIC difference on so many levels. I was checking out this site in the links and figure I would share it with ya! :driving:

Uhh, I would have to go look. I think they are Goodyear maybe? At least the ones on the mini van are. We picked ones that were firmer than recommended. Since it is a Chrysler Town & Country they wanted the touring tires on it with a soft gentle ride. I went for the firmer tougher tires with deeper tread cause the mini van is used by DW in her business and sometimes she has too haul tons of mulch and flagstone in it not to mention all the plants and tools she needs.
The Accord has Japanese tires on it, not sure what brand. They have a good tread base and are almost new.

Wifes Matrix has Continentals, Don't know the rim or width, 55 series, the tires suck. Well, part of it's the suspension. Rides harsh, car slides around, and I like a little more sidewall between the rim and road. When we replace the tires I'm going to a 60 series, I don't know what brand.

The old Toyota 4x4 Truck came new with 225x78-15 Brigstone Desert Duelers, the tires worked pretty well, long enough life, good all around traction. Replaced the Brigstones with a set of 245x70-15 Unremembered brand. Pretty good tires, would float over just about anything, a bit bouncy, and lacked directional stability in snow. Both the Brigstone and NoName tires were "car tires' with a truck tread. Made me nervous carrying loads.

The truck now wears Goodyear 30x9.50-15 6 ply truck tires.I've had pretty good luck with them. When gas prices climed I started jacking the tire pressure. Use to run them 24~26~28 psi, now their up to ~35 psi. Centers havent burned out. Seems to wear evenly side to side. Got 2~3 more MPG on the highway. Tire pressure should be way lower for use in the snow.

On the bike I used Dunlap Elites, I was real happy with them. Tire life wasn't the greatest, never did a burn out, but had a pretty constant twisty wrist and heavy brake. When I toned down on the brake and wrist action the tires lasted substantially longer.

seems my wife decided that since the truck is a 4x4, and it had big tires, it should be able to drive over stuff:pat:

needless to say, the truck started vibrating like hell, turns out "mysteriously" I had a few ripped cords in them.

now I jut have the anemic radials it came with on it:sad:

seems my wife decided that since the truck is a 4x4, and it had big tires, it should be able to drive over stuff:pat:

Ohhhhh..... broken belts are USUALLY a sign of poor tire MFG.
What brand were they? SOrry to hear that because Im sure they werent cheap.

For truck tires I LOOOOVE the Michelin LTX M/S... best tire in the snow! For a passenger car I have the Goodyear Assurance Tripletred and not only are they AWESOME in the snow, they are great for a nice ride and cornering too. :thumb::bb::driving:

I am probably not a lot of help, my daily driver is a Dodge Ram 3500. I have firestone load range E. I love them.

I drive a Chevy Express 2500 van for my business. I have $700 worth of big ass Michelin load range E tires on the stock 8-lug steel rims. Best damn tires I've ever owned and they give that big van a ride like being in a car. Virtually no side sway in stiff winds, and they are wearing very well. BTW, that was the best price for them, and I bought them at Sam's Club, not that it makes any difference other than price.

sush, i've been looking for tires for my truck; got a flat in the last snowstorm, and it's time. the treads aren't below abe's head yet, but wet traction is very bad.

i have continental conti-tracs, 230 70 r16, 104s, i think.

they suck. they've sucked since the day i bought them. there hasn't been a suckier bunch of sucky tires like this that suck so much.

they've alwyas had bad wet traction, and snow or ice was terrible.

but i got 45k miles out of 'em, so it's time to go. i've been on tirerack.com, and discounttiredirect.com looking at some new ones. i like the firestone destination a/t's, or dueler a/t revo's.

i got a price from a local firestone for $650 and $750 installed, respectively. that comes with road hazard warranty, and a free brake and alignment check. check, not the actual work. that's extra, of course. :puke1:

i'm trying to keep the price to less than $500, so i'll be shopping around. and driving without a spare. :shock:

Well my Mustang's street tires at the moment are B F Goodrich Comp TA but I have a set of new Kumho going on soon. On the track for drag racing are Hoosier and for road racing are Yokohama.

My KIA mini van runs UniRoyals, it is what came on it and haven't needed to change them yet.

My 2008 Cadillac CTS has the all-season tire package, which includes Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 P235/50R18 tires all around, which are V-Rated (i.e., 149 MPH/240 KM/H), mounted on 18-inch chrome wheels.

I've found these to be excellent tires. They handle well, ride nicely, emit little road noise, and they look good on the car, but I hope I won't have to replace them before my lease runs out as they're about $300 each.

I had the Destination A/T's on my Durango. They were pretty good, not noisy at all, good traction.

Right now on minivan I have Michelin. And it’s fine. But back when I had a sedan I got Pirelli one time and oh my, were they excellent tires. The car felt as if it was flying. Loved it, absolutely loved it.

i'll check them out.

dw has a friend that knows a guy who can get really good tires cheap, but i have to go to a really bad neighborhood in elizabeth to get them installed. you have to order them, then pay in cash the day they tell you to show up.

I just have some Michelin all-season tires that came with my Accord. One season of Autocross chewed them up pretty good, but other than that they are ok...

Summer - Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 on 3 of the Benzes. P-zero on another, and regular non-perf on the other two.

Winter tires are all Blizzaks.
