I was contemplating writing a thread on clarifying butter. I'm not sure how many of you all cook with clarified butter at home. I used to, but haven't done it in several months.

What say ye? Yea or Nay?

I always thought it would be nice to have a glossary type forum. Someplace you could go to look up making clarified butter, scalding milk, stuff you may not do everyday and like to brush up on without having to Google it. Even cutting shallots (lol).

I usually make up a pint of Ghee (clarified butter) as I start getting low on it. I posted a recipe here a while back on how I make it. I like it because it has a lot higher smoke point that even some high heat cooking oils.

I'm a bit cloudy on the subject, myself. :)

And I agree, some sort of how to forum (Even if all the posts are locked and just for reference) might be handy.

It is something I make only occasionally. I agree witht the glossery thread for many tips such as clarifying butter, scalding milk ect.
