watch FN :yum::yum: CC is getting just as bad.
I watch PBS cooking on saturday till that fugly Todd English comes on then its lights out. I mean why is even on there .
not one program on Fn is any good anymore. Reruns of Alton maybe. Thats it..
Then they moved those hasbeens to CC. WHY..
The only cooking shows that I watch anymore are Americas Test Kitchen and Cooks Country...that's about it.

I like Chopped & Iron Chef. Don't think my cable company carries CC (Cooking Channel?). Now that Bravo picked up/airs Top Chef, I'm getting my first "taste." I don't follow it regularly though.

I love Chopped too CC. I'm a big fan of the Barefoot Contessa too. That's about it though.

I have the tv on most of the day for background noise. It's always on FN. If I hear anything interesting I come watch. I'd have to say Chopped, Top Chef and Hell's Kitchen are my favorites. (not all on FN)

One thing I have noticed on FN & Bravo cooking shows, is a loud sliding trombone sound-effect whenever there is a negative comment from the judges. Guess it's for the Drama, but I actually had to flip the channel. The awful sound has gotten lower, but it's an earsore & distracting.

I used to like Ina too. I have 3 of her cookbooks.
When she snubbed that Make a Wish kid. I lost total respect for her.

I USED to watch PBS but not so much recently. I WATCHED FN when they ACTUALLY TAUGHT something!! Like techniques and such like chiffonade and things like that. Now all they have on is alot of crap and gimick in my eyes!! Alton was good to a point and funny. And I see no reason for a cooking show to have a band!! Is it a variety show or an instructional cooking show? Give me a break. I miss Julia & Jacques, Madeleine Kamen, Martin Yan, David Rosengarten, Emeril when he was a cook and not an actor/band leader/talk show host!! JEEEEZ!! I liked Sara M and she would answer call in questions. FN had good shows back then. Remember Chef Du jour (sp)? It had a different cook on each day for a 1/2 hour. I do like watching the old Galloping Gourmet to a point.
I miss the old cooking shows on PBS such as Martin Yan, Jeff Smith and Julia Child just to mention a few. Now FN other than occasionally watching Iron Chef both Japanese and US it is rare for me. I also catch Top Chef's usually in the weekend marathons after the fact. Hell's kitchen I never could stand but do like Ramsey's shows on the BBC. I have also caught a few of his kitchen nightmares on both the BBC and America.
