That is just what I wanted buzzard, a real grandma kitchen. Cozy and warm with good vibes.

QSis, it will be awhile before I get myself together -- maybe a year or two, but I will post photos when I do!

I love some of these older gadgets and stuff. We have one of those old silver metal tins marked sugar on it, and are looking for the matching ones that say flour on it, etc.

Try uploading the pic to http://tinypic.com/ and then use "Insert Image" and post the link that Tinypic gives you. This way, you aren't actually uploading data to the site, but instead are linking to storage elsewhere.

Use the "Direct link for layouts" as the URL to your uploaded pic.

Absolutely! The more the better!

I've actually got a couple of those canisters as well. My neighbor gave them to me. Not sure where he got them......a flea market I think. I've got the Grease and Flour one. I'm using the Grease one and have Flour up for display.

OK first of all, now we need to run clean ours up cause I'm embarassed, LOL!
Now, DW just saw this and is biting at the chop for the 5 peice set.
That means if she went for it...and we won... we would have an extra sugar one. Have no idea who in the world would want it...

Ours are flour, sugar, coffee and tea. No grease.

My mom was married in 1951. She has the old revereware heavy copper bottomed pots and pans with the heavy black handles. I love them, they are much better quality than today's revereware. I have had catering buddies who have coveted them and searched for them at second hand stores and such. It is what I use to cook with all the time.

I have some antique gadgets from other family members. A hand crank beatter for example. It took a lot to make a cake in those days. lol

leolady, Nick Malgieri likes to collect antique restaurant and train service sets. You are far from being alone in your hobby.

There are those who specialize in one specific item, such as rolling pins and their variety.

It is not just salt and pepper shaker collectors anymore.

Others collect silver service.

I am so glad I am not alone in my quest for the old!:dizzy:

Shame on you Pancho!

And see what you enablers have made me do! If I had not been looking for canisters for Kel and Mav, I would not now be stuck with a Vintage Yellow RIVAL VAC-O-MAT WALL CAN OPENER!
