If you use Netflix, you may have gotten an email today if you subscribed to the 3 out at one time plan. They are jacking the price from 16.99 to 19.99. Unlimited streaming is still included.

They also added a new plan for 7.99 which is unlimited streaming but NO DVDs at all. Handy for Roku and IP enabled appliances (TV, DVD player, 360, PS3, Wii, etc).

They still have their 9.99 1 out with unlimited streaming, and 14.99 2 out with unlimited streaming.

In a news article the other day, the CEO of Netflix acknowledged the recent studies that 23% of the net bandwidth being used in North America is streaming from them (Netflix). Twenty Three Percent of all bandwidth consumed today in NA is Netflix!

The CEO went on to say their business model has changed, and he considers them an online content provider first with physical DVDs as an option.

I can see that.

These days, I’m getting more use of my streaming abilities than I am from the DVDs. When I want a hot new release, I never count on Netflix for that, but instead go to a Red Box.

I’m seriously considering the 7.99 online only plan, or perhaps the 9.99 1 out plan. I actually would have dropped Netflix a long time ago if it weren’t for Roku.

What do you guys think? How are you using Netflix, and what do you think of the new online only plan?

We have the 9.99 plan, but honestly I may go to the 7.99 plan. Lately, I haven't been watching the dvd's that are sent to me. I keep them for a bit, forget about them, find them and return them. LOL. Streaming works best for me.
