I'm a Mark Martin 6 guy but his time has passed. I've been to the Daytona 500 three times. This is the only sport where the Super Bowl is the first major event.

That's been the rumor for a long time. Ahh, who cares, he's a pretty funny guy, and a good announcer. His on track performance leaves a lot to be desired...

Don't be so sure. Mark is signed up to race the whole season in a Hendrick car this year. This is definitely his Hail Mary season though...

I don't care either and I do think he is pretty darn funny. I just wish he would get it over with!!!

To me NASCAR is about like watching a dog chase its tail. My preference is road racing all the classes. The only NASCAR I watch is when they do the road courses which I makes me laugh at these....ah....drivers with left and right turns.

Ya know, I would like to see large cars like a Crown Vic, Caddy, 300C and Avalon race on a combo of dirt roads and pavement, over hills... etc.
Now THAT I Would be glued to the set for.

Then the next week have the smallest cars race :thumb: 100% stock!

I tried dirt biking once after a couple too many drinks on a full chopped 750 K1 Honda. Needless to say it was good thing I was drunk or I might of hurt myself. :pat:

Not a NASCAR fan here at all. I enjoy dirt tracks. We've got a quarter-mile oval here that's been voted the top WISSOTA track twice in a row. I've served as cornerman going on 3 seasons now.

Dirt track is fun..... we go to Cedar Lake in WI..... usually for the 4th of July....
I like it better at the start tho..... by the end when its all dried out the chewing on sand bit gets old on the way home.

I like the road courses and short tracks... the speed ways tend to bore me a bit.

Hey, if ya ain't got dirt in yer beer, it's not a good night at the track.

You should wander over here for the Stampede. I think it's the 3rd weekend in September. Lotsa cars from Mn. come over. Iowa, Wisconsin, Wyoming, Canada. They all come.

Bring suntan lotion and warm clothes. You just never know what the weather'll be.

I wished I had the photos of me as a Trophy Girl at the local dirt track race way when I was a wee little turd. There was me and these grubby looking guys, never could manage to be the Trophy Gal when the cute dudes won!

I have mixed emotions when Martin is doing well in a Chevy.

Biffle, then Edwards, then any Rousch, then Any Ford, and lastly, anything but a Chevy.

Then your in luck! Office Depot is sponsoring Tony Stewart this year, and Carl has the Aflac duck as his main sponsor...

When we went to NC to for our small family reunion in Mooresville area we visited a lot of the garages. My favorite was the Penske site as they build several cars for different sponsors as well as formula cars, Indy cars as several types of road race cars. The pictures below are of 2 of the 8 places we visited.

RobsanX

I agree that Penske was the best, followed by Joe Gibbs. I heard that Waltrip's shop is really neat if you take the tour, but we didn't want to pay $15 a head for it.

I'm a huge Roush fan, and they had a nice museum, but I was disappointed with the shop viewing area.

Roush was closed the day we went and so was the Earnhardt's place though Dale Jr races for Johnson so we did go there. I really wanted to see the Roush layout as they also build the Roush Mustang there from what I understand.

We're totally disconnected from the NASCAR culture here on the left coast. I love NASCAR orange ...... the color that is.

Actually they have 3 races in CA, which is more than most states, but I understand what you're saying.
