Stay tuned for pictures!!

5 pounds fresh figs, stems removed
5 pounds sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1/2 c bourbon

Put figs, bourbon and cinnamon sticks into large pot. Add sugar and let sit for 3 hours. Stir. Set pot over high heat and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer for 40-60 minutes, till foam is gone and syrup coats back of spoon.

Spoon into jars (size of your choice - I like 1/2 pint) , wiping rims carefully. Place in hot water bath, water 2 inches over top and boil for 15 minutes. Carefully remove from bath.

Like I said...pictures coming soon.

Well, the ingredients sound luscious, but HMMMPH .... only a measley 1/2 cup bourbon per 10 pounds of fruit and sugar??? :D

Seriously, sounds wonderful!

How do you serve it, VB? Over ice cream? Toast spread?
