For those of you that don't know Keltin, he used to belong to another forum, before his unfortunate banning. But this guy can really cook (even if he's not good at kissing butt.)

Hey JP, great to see you here. You still making those awesome burritos? And sorry about that email JP, but I never got it.
I wasn’t going to talk about the “other” place here, but so many other members are, and everyone keeps asking why I got hit with the ban-hammer. Ok. It’s simple and stupid really.
I got banned for being “argumentative”. They never gave me an official reason, I just tried to log in one day and my account was banned. But, I emailed one of the Mods and they said it was because I was too argumentative for their liking and that I debated things too much.
Some of you may remember some of my more memorable posts where I got into debates.....it was usually with a food snob or someone that was being discourteous and rude. You soon learn that Mods over there don’t do debate very well. They would post one or two remarks thinking to end it, and then PM you telling you to shut up and let them have the last word. I never could do that. I actually got into a back and forth PM with one mod that cussed me and told me if I PM’d him back and didn’t let him have the last word, he’d ban me. Unreal.
On the day I got banned, there was a long debate with two Mods....two of them always had it out for me. If I posted anything, they would post back that something I said was incorrect. Like I said I bought some balsamic vinegar at the store, and they wrote back that is not TRUE balsamic since it was not aged and imported from Italy, and because of that my recipe was inadequate. Crap!
On that fateful day, it had been back and forth with the debate. I was really tired of it, and I even tried to delete a lot of my posts and they actually posted them back!!! WTF? I finally had enough and made a smart remark to the Mod in question. He had a thread up about a cast iron teapot that he had pretty much ruined. In the debate thread he made a remark to me about taking care of something (a pot I think), and I responded that he needed to learn to take care of his own things. He replied that he took excellent care of everything, and I said “Oh really, then why is your teapot so screwed up” and posted a link to his teapot thread. He banned me right after that one.
Well, actually, the first thing they tried wasn’t a ban. Instead they tried to put me on “the hack”. I’m not sure what that is supposed to do, but all it did was slow down my connection and it gave me Moderator rights so that I was able to access their private Mod Forum!!! They actually have a private forum with two sections. Like we have sections in public for Beef, Chicken, etc, they have sections for General Board and Members (or something similar to that....it’s been a while).
I browsed their boards and was blown away to see there were 3....THREE.....active threads about ME! All started by the same teapot guy. He kept whining and asking for permission to ban me. The others said that they should try “the hack” first. And they did. But, when they saw the hack didn’t work and that I had read their private boards, they just went ahead and banned me.
So, that’s it. I debated too much, and I saw their dirty laundry. But, to tell the truth, I’d bet the real reason is because I saw their boards. I can’t say I am shocked by what I saw, but they certainly didn’t want me talking about it. They literally dog cuss some members in private. They would talk about how such and such member is really pissing them off and they would just love to slap the crap out of them, or how’d they’d really love to stuff something down their throats, etc. It wasn’t pretty; and certainly not Rated G.

Whops, my bad. I saved two of their Mod Threads as MHT archive files. I just re-read it all, and they said they were going to ban me for “Going Off Topic”. The ban was only supposed to be for a week.....it’s been a very long week! I still say it was because I saw their private forums.
Ok, enough of that! Happy happy thoughts! And look, it’s Friday and nearly 5:00 where I’m at. It’s beer-thirty ya’ll!!!!:bounce:

That was very interesting, K.
And it explains why I always had problems on that forum. Pages not loading, taking forever. I posted this several times and it always got ignored. No problem on any other forums.... Real nice that they have a "mess with your mind" button....

You know, Fred we are now in a forum where Doc does a fantastic job. Let us be grateful for his management style and drop the rest. I want to get back to discussing baking and food! ;-)
PS Pacanis, I also want to thank you for it was my curiousity about what happened to you that led me to this wonderful community. My hat is off to you.

Ditto.
I can't say enough about the mods here. And it's great that the site owner is a part of the community.
