Is there going to be a "Results" thread? Just wondering.

VeraBlue
05-27-2010, 08:14 PM
I'd like to say 'yes' to that question, but I don't know for sure. If it can wait till I get settled I can try to handle that, weekly. Right now, I can barely focus on just typing.

Ok I'll give it a shot. I will include the recipe link or a description with the pics. Sometimes things are so simple no recipe is needed. Like the saying goes a picture is worth a thousand words. LOL

I'm actually roasting some ugly ripes for pizza!! I even managed to get a picture or two!!

I made a roasted tomato pizza - used an armenian bread that was topped with black and white sesame seeds. Then I spread pesto on top of that, fat free mozzarella, sauteed mushrooms (in the one pot I still have unpacked) and roasted Ugly Ripe tomatoes. I roasted them first so they would be a bit drier on top of the bread.

Everything is looking great in here! If I read Vera's post correctly, we can still do tomatoes through tonight, so I've got two ugly ripes  that will hopefully turn into some kind of side.

I have never tried ugly ripes. what are they like flavor wise? mild or strong?

The Challenges are Monday through Monday, so yes, Tomato is still on today, and Seasonal started today, as well.

Peeps, Ugly Ripes are just that...ugly, but delicious....they always taste just picked off the vine and so much better than hot house tomatoes.

SilverSage

Right now, they come from Florida. In the summer, they come from more northern parts of the country. In the winter, they're shipped in from Mexico & South America, but you can still get them if you want to pay 4.99 a pound.
