Hi!
I was over at DC and got a few invites to come over this forum.

Can you guess who I am over there? :wink:
Same person here as over there but a bit more ...Me ... I hope.
I read some posts in this Intro section and I see there are some people here who, like myself, are slightly disappointed with that other place.

They've pulled several of my posts. Maybe I'm paranoid but I think they're watching me because the post pulling happened within minutes. Apparently they want to make sure that I don't offend some other adult. What the.....
They even made me change my signature.
AND, there is a member on *this* forum who told me that the DC PMs were MONITORED. That was shortly before he was banned. So much for the "private" in PM. :shock:
I told one of the monitors that he was way too sensitive, and, guess what, he got all defensive about it. Figures.

they've sworn up and down to everyone that they do not read pm's (which i think most admins/mods do not), but i've had my reason to wonder.
it could be coincidence, but i made a mention that the place was run as if it was a nazi disneyland a long time ago in a pm to a member who was banned shortly thereafter (for something else), and that exact quote came back to me from an admin a while later.

I also had a post deleted immediately simply because I stood up to someone making very rude comments in a thread I started towards me! I was very recpectful but I did state that I found their comments completely uncalled for .....and for that I got deleted......:neutral: As well as pm'd explaining that they thought I should take it up with them privately.....I was only sticking up for myself! :glare:

My only real misgiving about making that post was using that other persons PM. I resist using other peoples words (unless I'm using those words to club that person over the head) in such a manner because of the potential fallout to that person. I downloaded then deleted my message folder shortly after making the post, but it could have been archived or, hell, more than likely since I was on their radar my message folder was probably already read.
Thing is, how important can a forum be? Getting booted isn't going to put more or less snow on the ground, get Wife and my lights turned off or touch my wallet. So why do I (and others) read boorish, pompous pap and allow it to pass.
More than once I have looked at a post and wanted to take issue but figured it wasn't worth 'it', but worth what? That's a question I ask myself regularly.
Oh hell, that's there and this is here. :thumb:

I'm a member of a forum where people who should know better argue with you just for the sake of argument. And when the do, I don't respond to that thread any more. Come to think of it, I post very seldon over there any more, it's not worth the hassle.

Part of me wants to keep this thread going, part of me doesn't.
I've been a member of one forum since '98, they hae a section set up for 'topics of the day'. We piss and moan, fight like family, and pretty much get down and dirty, and it's the best moderated forum I have belonged to yet. Only real rule is to not challenge the Moderators over their authority and rulings in an open, public forum. Got a problem with a Mod take it outside, otherwise the Mods are just as subject to being taken to task for their 'opinions' as any one else.
Contrast this with Y sending me a PM filled with drivel about a post I made, I couldn't figure out how to reply except for three letters , LOL . Got me a 'Time Out'.
Sadly pathetic.
