Well just what the title says. Some folks are car people.... others, not so much. Personally I love my cars. Im pretty picky.
So what do you drive and do you like it? AND what do you REALLY want to get?

I drive either a Chrysler Town & Country, or a Honda Accord depending on who has the kids. Both are OK vehicles and get the job done.
Would love to get a Honda Pilot or a Chevy Silverado Z-71.
Take your pick I love them both but for different purposes. Oh and those interested in the mustang you can check it out in more detail at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/530508 I call it the Deer Slayer as a deer caused me to turn a perfectly good car into a great car by running in front of it.

The 68 was my first car that my parents bought for me in 1974. It wasn't new. I'll have to dig up a picture.

I love the Shelby GT 500 almost as much as the Roush version but then I'm a Corvette man that is driving a mustang myself.

I recently bought a 1999 Lincoln Town Car (yea Im 38  ) and I LOOOOOVE it! Alas it was an ex-limo so it has a huge amount of miles BUUUT.... they are VERY dependable and as a limo if there was something wrong it was taken care of.
This after a 2003 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. I got VERY lucky and sold the Vic for $2500 and bought the Town Car at only $1500.
HEY!!!! If you have photos of you car(s) post them! :w00t2:

We have been stopped by many of Corvette people that say they love Corvettes but they really like the Shelbys too.
FooD drives a 2001 Ford Explorer.

I bet you have however I would still eat your lunch in the Shelby and me in my old 90 GT (highly modified) on a tight road course. They just don't handle as well as the Vette or my Mustang which actually can go toe to toe with the vettes on a tight circuit. I just don't have the HP to stay with them in long straights. I'm only at 400 HP at the flywheel which is the limit for the weight of the car in my class in American Iron.

I drive a old tank of a Benz and yeah... I like er... she's an old girl and sort of high maintenance but she's got a sunroof and a bangin' stereo and some pep... I just wish she was standard
I also have a S-10 Pickup that has been pretty much street furniture lately.. I need to decide to spring for a new engine or scrap it.. still drives but real rough

I use to be 'into' my car... but I really don't care about it much anymore. A car is a car and it gets me from point a to point b. I have a Honda Accord XLE 04... great car, not a single problem. But I loved driving my Lexus better!

I have a little red nissan pick up truck.
When I moved here, I had alittle mini van I hated that was a bomb and almost dead. I gave it 6 mos. But I needed my cash to buy the house. The van lasted 2 1/2 more years. I gave it a proper burial, didn't look back and got the truck.
I love my little baby even though it's pretty no frills.
People who meet me think me odd being a girl and liking trucks. But I garage sale and refinish furniture, so a car isn't practical.
But I've alway been a tomboy and other than the 3 VW beetles
I've had (Yes, I loved those old beetles, especially on a hill in snow), the only other car I have any interest in is Jaguar.
I've driven tractor trailors, dump trucks, plowed snow from heavy duty p/u s and dump trucks.
Never had a motorcycle and thought when I moved down here that's what I'd get too. NO helmet laws.
But I quickly talked myself out of that after a month or 2 driving with these wackos on the road.
My dream: A p/u, a jag & a bike.
(I guess I better play the lotto tomorrow night. LOL!)

LOL Joe, Good one!
Thanks chowhound. We are a Ford family here. I didn't even list the pickups that we own. A couple old ones.
we are Mercedesdrivers by Nature - except for DH's company car, that's a red passat...
my daily driver is a '87 230CE
I think it's one of the ugliest cars around, but a very good driver... and it has original Mercedes rims by now..
http://www.byzanzgold.de/resources/230CE124Details25.jpg
when we went on holiday we had no car for that.. the Olds too old, the Coupe too low and the Passat not ours.. so we bought an old 250D Taxi, wich completed the 600.000km (~ 372 822.715 34 miles) on the way to Poland
http://www.byzanzgold.de/resources/Taxi+Memel.jpg
then we have our loved old ones
Hartmut, a '68 250 /8, our first old one.. comes from South France

the engine is broken - we already have a new one, but we and our mechanic need time to change it... *sigh*

I currently have a 2000 Honda Odessey, which I bought for my wife to replace the dead '95 Ford Windstar which whe loved until it died on us. My all-time favorite was my 1967 International 1200A 3/4 ton Campermobile pickup, which I ordered and bought new. She had a 304 V8, 12 inch 12 spring clutch, 5 speed short fourth tranny, powerlock rear end, and lots of extras. Not overly much on looks, but would churn at 70 mph all day long at 3000 rpm, getting a max of 14 mpg empty or loaded. I ran her for almost 35 years, until whe was pretty well worn out and parts were hard to come by. Over 175,000 miles on her, and never even had to pull a head. Had to do a good bit of wrenching on carb, brakes, water pumps, fuel pumps, king pins, radiator, and clutch slave cylinder. Man, I loved that truck, and when IH quit building pickups in 1975, I knew I could never again find a suitable replacement.
Fred
That seems to be a problem with Japanese cars, is they don't make parts long enough like the US. I had a '71 Datsun 240 Z for years that I would weekend race as well as a street ride. The windshield wiper motor died and I couldn't find one anywhere so it was time to move on and let it go. Same with their motor cycles which I've owned. Had a '71 K1 750 Honda that I complete chopped and put well over 200K miles on it but engine parts got hard to find so I sold it. Really loved that ride too.

Absolutely! Runs beautifully now, but I still think that would be a good idea. In fact, first time DW drove it after the engine work, I told her to take it easy as it now had the 4 barrel on it.
She peeled out!! LOL.

I bought one of the first Miatas in the country and took delivery in July, 1989. Since then I've more than doubled the cost in aftermarket goodies. Except for the body and the engine block there is almost nothing stock anymore. Originally it dyno'd 96 HP at the rear wheels and did 0-60 in 9.6 seconds. I fooled with the tuning with crap results so I put a supercharger on it. This was good but not good enough so when a reliable turbo was on the market I put one on. Rear wheel dyno HP is now 264.2 and 0-60 is in the mid 4's. Wifey and I bought a house and it only had a two car garage so I very sadly ebay'd it a couple years ago. Sniff sniff.

I drive a 2004 Harley-Davidson FXDi Super Glide--at least that's how life began for Black Betty.
The engine was rebuilt as a 95 ci, with 203 cams, new pushrods, the free-flowing air-cleaner and Stage II Screaming Eagle pipes.
Oh, and I like chrome.
Right now Betty is in the shop to have the entire rear end customized and updated with a solid wheel.
Oh, and even more chrome.

I'm like Sattie now - I don't really care what I'm driving as long as it starts and has air conditioning. I have a 2000 GMC Safari mini-van, a 2002 PT Cruiser, a 2000 Saturn and a huge old 15 passenger Ford van. They all run and they are all paid for so I'm happy. But I do enjoy riding in my friends' nice cars!!
For transportation I drive a '95 Toyota 4x4 standard cab. Wife has a 2006 or 2007 Toyota Matrix. Both our Toyotas are base models bought new. Well, the truck was off the lot with 50 miles on it and the Matrix was ordered. We made a mistake on the Matrix and didn't get the power door locks but we did get the rear window heater with heavy duty charging system and rear floor heater. I think the rear floor heater is an option. ?
In the garage I have a '77 Mustang II (Abby, as in AbbyNormal)) and a '78 Mach 1. These two are tied together. I started modding the '77 but there were/are so few left I couldn't shake the feeling every time I did something to it I was changing something rare. So I got my Wetland Act '78. You know the act, free to destroy this wetland if you preserve that wetland. So I got the '78 with the intention of preserving it.
Unfortunately the V6 in the Mach sucked. And so did the power train.
So I pulled the V6 from the Mach and set it to the side. Pulled the 351 from Abby so I could use it as the fitment mule for a 88 5.0 with AOD because Abby is less than pretty while Mach has Factory Paint. Abbys and Machs engines are on the ground, Machs new engine needs to go into Abby first to minimize the risk to Abby, and the project stalled.
Needed a garage, built that when I had only Abby and needed a place to work. 1300+ feet, bigger than the house.
Needed my own tool verses Bosses tools. Got my own tools. Welder, torch, pullers. Sucks when you have to be your own tool crib.
Had to collect parts. Collected parts.
Now all I need is money. LOL!!!!
Motorcycles .... wish I still had one.
Got into trouble on it for the uhhh time. Figured I was getting too far out there so it's gone.
Wife cried about the Virago that I had when we wed, was glad to see it go for about a year. Took her that long to realize part of me left when the bike went. Something about daily doses of adrenaline and Sex that lasted for hours ... tourist knows what I mean ...
Now she wants me to get another but $$$$

We drive a green/blue 2004 Nissan pickup with a full crew cab. It is a model that is manufactured here in Mexico and not available in the US. Great little truck - we've had it three years and beyond routine maintenance, it has not cost us a single extra peso. At least once a week, someone calls out to us at a stoplight, "Se vende?" (Is it for sale?) It is a very popular model here. Fills all of our needs - we can haul bricks and bags of cement and also pick someone up at the airport (after we wash it).
