everybody has a different rub... i use this one as a base

1 cup very dark brown sugar
1/4 cup paprika
2 TBL chili powder
2-3 TBL salt
2 TBL fresh cracked black pepper
1 TBL italian seasoned, rubbed
2 TBL garlic powder
1 TBL onion powder
2 tsp cayenne

when i make babybacks for the missus, i eliminate the chili powder cuz she doesnt like it.

i have added many things to this rub..a touch of cinnamon, chinese five spice(depending on the flavor i want of the ribs)

mix your rub, i find it tastes best when u let it sit overnight... remove membrane on ribs if desired. lather with mustard or the W-sauce, apply rub... wrap with plastic wrap, place in fridge overnight... when i am ready i put more rub on and put in smoker....

You know, I haven't seen dark brown sugar around here for quite some time, I wonder if I could just add some molasses to compensate?
Other than that, recipe looks great and sounds good!

i dont know about adding molasses butttttttttt

i know its a little drive for you but i am sure its at the Meijer's...or the Kroeger's which is also a little drive for you... u may also want to check out one of the local mexican markets...
you can look for turbino sugar which will do the same job

We have a Food4Less that carries a lot of Kroeger's stuff, I will check there and if not check out the Mexican market nearby. I know they do have this stuff that is in cylinders and is dark and similar to a dark sugar... I am ask about that.
