View Full Version : Oven "barbecued" Pork Steaks
Wicked easy!
Sprinkle pork steaks with some BBQ rub. Chop an onion and a little garlic to put on top of the pork. Drizzle some BBQ sauce on over all.
Cook in a 350 oven, uncovered, for an hour.

This is definitely my kind of recipe, Lee. Easy and looks fantastic! Plus the ingredients are things I almost always have on hand. Copied and pasted - thanks, girlfriend!

This is my favourite way to do pork steaks Lee!
In the oven.
Never have I even thought to cover them with onion!
Normally I just lay 2-3 out on a baking sheet, then bake them at 375 until they start to fry in there in their own fat, then I add BBQ sauce at the end.
I'll add onion and garlic next time.

Very nice, Lee. The red onion really adds some pizazz.
I've got a pork steak in the freezer now earmarked for doing this.

I picked up my hickory and brown sugar SBR today along with a red onion. I'll be having it in the next few days probably.
I might try that with my last two stuffed pork chops from Rabideaux's Sausage Kitchen. We made two last night for dinner and they where great. The stuffing is a sausage mix with a bit of a kick to it.

Would they work as well with loin chops? DH doens't care for the steaks...... whiner..... :D

Sure, but you might not want to cook them as long, as they are leaner than shoulder and butt cuts.
I'm glad everyone liked this simple recipe. QBro didn't care for it at all. Guess he's a smoking purist. pffft

Bump!
I was just thinking (because of the steak sauce thread)--
This recipe would be lovely with the pork steaks, onions (with mushrooms added?) along with a really good steak sauce.
Something I am definitely going to try in the near future.
