It appears you all know about rep points. One setting that is up to the forum Admin is how many rep points have to be spread around before you can give rep points to the same person again. That magic number is 6. So don't get discouraged if it keeps telling you to spread em around. That is how it works.
I could post more detail on rep points if anyone wants me to.
Please do Doc since I haven't had a chance to read the FAQ.

Read Docs new thread.... http://www.netcookingtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7295#post7295
it depends who is giving the points. If I have 2 green rep points that means Im giving more to someone that has just one rep point.
Man I just read that thing four times and still don't know. Does it take a thousand points or 50. The explanation is fine on how to get them and give them but the green boxes are what each?

I'm actually going to the city to meet with my brother and his wife today. He and I haven't seen eye to eye for about 15 years and have only spoken a few times during that time. When we did speak it was often extremely negative.
We're both trying to salvage some sort of relationship with each other. I think both of us have just wearied of trying to remember who said what and who cut the deepest, etc....
Marianne and Jim, on the other hand are living it up at home where it's a comfy 75 degrees. They mentioned coming back around easter. Now that I have Maxi in the house this may pose a problem. Seems Marianne is allergic to cats. One of them is going to have to be put up somewhere. I wonder how my mother will fare in a kennel?:yum:

The 6 thing is to get you to spread the rep points around. If you give someone rep points, you have to give rep points to 5 other folks before you can give to the first person again. As far as I know you can give as many people in a day points as long as you follow the rotation.
The message Susan got is because she had already given that person points and hadn't given 5 other reps out.

It's my belief that karma goes out and karma comes back. If you give out good vibes (for lack of a better word) you get good back...if you give out shit, you'll get it back, 3 fold.
That, by the way, is what earned me negative karma over at DC. To a poster who had received bad news, I said 'it comes around what goes around, and you put good out there. I'm sure you'll get good news, etc etc etc.
All hell broke loose because people believed I was saying she deserved what she was getting. What a bunch of bullshit, actually. If they'd bother to read the post instead of getting all bottlenecked at the first half they would have realised I was wishing her well. Bunch of nitwits....

Eventually, as I slowly repost all my recipes on this site, I shall post it here. Makosh is a rich Hungarian Pastry Roll and the one that I gave Barb when I met her had a homemade poppy seed filling. I have a poppy seed grinder that I bought at Sur La Table for cheap because only someone like me would want to make their own poppy seed filling. Grocery stores don't have dedicated grinders anymore let alone the fact that really fresh poppy seeds can be hard to come by unless you have a place like Penzeys or an ethnic market.

See post 40, you can tell who has go the most by ranking the members by reputation points in the members list. It doesn't tell you how many people have other than relative to others. So for example if I have 35 points, those above have more & the one at the top has the most.

Well I was thinking about a new and fun one and I think I got it!!!!
If you look at your rep points, you will notice one green square.
Now the first new member that has joined within the last month that gets enough Rep Points to have TWO green squares WINS!!!!!!:clap::clap:
There is no time limit on the contest and only one person can win. SO..... folks, start handing out Rep Points to great posts!
The PRIZE?????? Either a $15 gift Certificate to a place of your choice or $10 to shop at Penzeys!!!!!! :bounce::bounce::bounce:
The Contest starts NOW!!!!
Sattie, sorry, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news :hide: .... but according to Sushi's rules you were not one of the new members that joined within the last month of when Sushi posted this contest. Sorry, whoever thought you won must've missed that.
I know there has been some question about this contest, I never would have ran two consecutive contests, but Sushi did this one. Unfortunately, he cannot pay off as intended so I will take care of it. The winner will have the choice between a Net Cooking Talk decal, as shown in the site supporters thread, or $15 paid via paypal.
Watch your little green thing-a-ma-do's and when you have two post here. 1st new member with two green thingies to post here will WIN!
