TGM, you left in a ball of flames. I think there was some gender bias. You shared some personal things and some people were supportive and some people were not. Those who could not support you could have sat on their hands and not posted and the mods could have saved you some hurt by shutting down the thread or deleting it as you asked. With his arrogance and distain for woman who speak their mind in disagreement with him, this is the wrath they get. I posted the PMs he sent me. They deleted the posts and locked it. i told the admin that he'd better do a humility check on a certain matter, and his response was unbelievably childish. then he warned me that i was to be, quote "treated just like everyone else from now on".

Holey moley, Calico! I'm shocked!

I had my hand slapped a couple of times: once for arguing about the definition of "barbecue" (an argument which is treated as an Olympic sport by bbq'ers, but was quashed on DC), once for saying I tried someone's recipe and didn't care for it ("it's not necessary to post an opinion that might hurt someone .... we try to maintain a postive atmosphere here"), and once for posting a recipe from a website that was evidently a copyright infringement.

I just took my venting about DC to PM's, pretty much, unless I saw someone else getting publicly hassled, in which case I'd jump in. Threads were locked whenever there was lack of support for a mod or admin's point of view. Very frustrating.

I don't know what happened with you, Giant Mojito, but I'm sure I'd be appalled.

I "witnessed" quite alot of what everyone else is mentioning, but never got involved in any of it, just not my nature......
I will say that as soon as I joined HERE I felt comfortable in knowing that I wouldnt have to worry about typos, proper grammar and most importantly being able to voice my opinion without having my thread deleted by the mods/admins because THEY didnt agree with my OPINION:shock:
IMHO there is one admin there who is ruining the whole forum.....I think you can guess who he is:wink:
That said, there are alot of great people there as well, hopefully they will join here as well:smile:

JoeV, the only difficulty that I see is remembering that the rules are different over there. It is so easy to get used to speaking more freely and forgetting oneself over there. I was there last night and several times I decided not to add my post and self-censored. I did not want the hassle. Someone here thought of it as sport--can she still adapt over there and not get called out. I think it is possible, if you so desire. I would hate to lose some of the other friends that I have over there because of one or two people. That would be ridiculous.
