In case you missed me...

I just got out of the hospital yesterday after 9 days in ICU. Pneumonia and a critically low blood count (4.5) just about did me in. I had to be anesthetized and intubated, and it's been a tough road back. Thanks to the prayers of friends and family and the best of care, plus a dose of "tough old bird" brought me around.
One good thing that has come out of this is that I haven't smoked in 10 days, and am wearing the patch so that I'm not tempted to start again. After 45 years, I've pushed my luck far enough, and was lucky they found no malignancies when they pumped me out.

Best wishes in quitting the 'habit'. I quit (for the umpteenth time) over 20 years ago. So glad I did. If I can do it, anyone can. Keep your resolve up and don't give in no matter what.
