Cream Cheese Chicken

3 lb. chicken pieces (I use breasts, legs, and thighs)
1 pk. Italian salad dressing mix
4 T. melted butter, divided
1 small onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 can cream of chicken soup
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup chicken broth

Place chicken pieces in crockpot and sprinkle salad dressing mix over all.
Sprinkle with 2 T. melted butter.
Cook on low 6 hours.
Melt 2 T. butter in saucepan and saute onion and garlic.
Add to the onions and garlic mixture the cr. of chicken soup, cream cheese and chicken broth.
Stir until smooth.
Add this mixture to the crockpot and cook on low and additional 1-1/2 to 2 hours.

I would imagine you could use the bottled. I've never tried it but maybe next time I will. I can't think what to substitue with, sorry.

What did you end up using??

Please do not forget the drooling old man in the ruled trenchcoat outside your kitchen window.

Great for this time of the year.

Nice.
I think I'll add the soup, cream cheese and broth to my sauteed onions to melt it down before adding to the cooker. This is getting made as soon as I clear out some leftovers.

And it has a clove of garlic! It qualifies for the challenge!
