So you buy those frozen hamburger patties, but you don't have any rolls to make a quick dinner with. What to do... fry 'em up and make a gravy. It's the closest I've found to comfort food that only take about 30 minutes start to finish. Are you listening RR? :wub:
Heat up some EVOO in a pan. When it starts to smoke add the patties.
These were seasoned heavily with Grill Mates Montreal. They're frozen, premade patties. They need all the help they can get.
After the first flip, add some shrooms and onions. Let this cook for a while. You don't want to trap any veggies under the patties at this point or they might burn.
Flip, stir, cover off, cover on, no set rules here. Just cook everything through, realizing the burgers are going into the warmer for a while and the onions and mushrooms are staying in the pan to make the gravy with. So the onions and shrooms don't need cooked entirely.
The blood had stopped rising in the burgers, so they were set on a plate, covered with foil and tossed into the toaster oven on as low a warm setting as it has. Meanwhile, I added some flour to the pan and created a roux.
Then added some beef broth and the gravy was formed. I should have added more broth and made more gravy for the fries, but the meat was the main concern. Because like I said, these are frozen, premade patties.... they need all the help they can get. And that means covering them up in gravy :thumb:
