Low and behold I go outside to get the paper and it's snowing..............again!! :yuk::yuk: It's supposed to continue all week. It's about 15 degrees and a windchill of 4. I haven't seen my driveway in a month! I'm really getting tired of this.

I would love some snow to remind me that it is winter. It was 80 on Friday and has benn in the highg 60s all weekend. Suppose to turn tonight and then have ICE Tuesday night!!! ACK!!
We got up to 60 Friday. The little bit of snow that was left mostly dissappeared. Then yesterday we got a light dusting. This morning big ole flakes were falling. Made the drive to work more interesting for sure.
Two more months of winter to deal with. I'm with you Barb. YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you drive down the street and around the corner, you'll fine Yours Truly in the same predicament. It's NE Ohio....It's what it does here each & every year...Fire up the oven and bake something.
I only have 9 days until I'm fly fishing for trout in Tennessee for a few days. I'll sure be glad to get on that plane and head a little bit south for awhile.

OK you Texans, It just said something about ice coming to east coast of texas this week. I forget where yous' is, but that means I'll get cold weather again a few days after you. NO THANK YOU.
I hated turning on the heat for the past 9-10 days. It's so dry and inefficient. And socks and long sleeves look so silly next to palm trees! Yet the 'snowbirds' are wearing shorts with socks and sweatshirts (which look more rediculious). But are avoiding going into the 62 degree gulf water, even if the beaches are crowded with them. Mostly midwesterners and germans here right now. What a hardy bunch, even if they do look silly.

Here's what we have today and tomorrow. There's already 2 inches on the ground. I don't really mind the snow, I HATE ICE!
Today: Snow. High near 30. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
Tonight: Snow and sleet before midnight, then freezing rain and sleet. Low around 28. Light east wind. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of 0.1 to 0.3 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Wednesday: Rain or freezing rain, becoming all rain after noon. High near 35. Calm wind becoming west around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New ice accumulation of around a 0.1 of an inch possible.
Wednesday Night: A chance of rain and snow showers before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Northwest wind between 8 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
Yes I agree on the ice. I had to go out this morning and open our electronic gate by hand as the chain had iced up. It will be open now till the ice turns to snow or melts, probably the next couple of days. Snow isn't a problem since my place is mostly concrete which it melts on pretty quick though it stays on the grass areas for a few days. Being surrounded by metal storage building help too.

We are getting freezing rain here. It knocked out my high speed internet. So I'm on my backup connection. A little slower but not bad.
We got 3 or 4 inches of snow yesterday. It turned to rain, then freezing rain overmight. What a mess. All the pine trees are drooping big time. I'm sure I'll have some trees go down on my back 40. We have a crusty sheet of ice all over our 400 foot drive and I don't evenwant to go out and mess with it. I'm waiting until the afternoon when it's supposed to turn back to snow. Plowing in the freezing rain is the worst of the worst. yuck. Sure wish I had a snow blower like chowhound, but we don't usually get enough snow to justify one. I have not had to plow my drive for two years ...until today.

Doc. Save your back up computer.
Get a piece of cardboard or plastic tarp, set it outside for awhile to get it crispy. Then sit your butt down on it and have a ball!
But take pics! LOL!
I have a tenant with a Cat that does mine but today he can't even get to it walking. We have a solid sheet of a couple of inches of ice and now the snow is coming down hard. We still have power so that isn't a problem though 5 miles south they have no power or water. This is the most snow and ice I've seen since I came to Lexington from Miami. We are open but not much traffic is able to get up the street to me except large delivery trucks.

A house blew up! It was completely leveled. An 80 yr. old couple lived there. Fortunately someone was outside nearby about 9:30 last night when it happened. They got them out and they're in critical condition at the hospital. They don't know what happened yet. I guess they're thinking something with the gas line.
It was in the next town over and our house shook and we heard a big bang. Didn't know what happened until the news came on. Freaky and scary!!

I need to go out with a yard stick and measure how much we have. I swear we have over 2 feet easy. Hubby said the roads were horrible and because it was snowing last night, he took my car to work because it is 4 wheel drive. These are the times I wish I still lived in Painesville, 5 minutes from everything.

I was looking forward to a day off from snowblowing, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. No new snow, but I looked out my front window this morning and it looks like "the drift" is trying to challenge my authority again on his corner of my driveway. And he's got some smaller, 1-1/2 ft buddies strategically placed on the way out to the road.
It's supposed to get into the low forties today, so if I don't move them today, they'll refreeze into hardpack by tomorrow. Sigh.....

Looks like my yard chowhound!
We've got mounds on either side of our drive which prevents us from seeing to pull out of the driveway and we live on a corner, which is really fun. The city is even nice and piles the snow on "our" corner which makes it more dangerous. People coming out of the side street don't bother stopping so it's really scary.

Man, am I glad I moved back to OK. We ended up getting about 1/4" of ice, an inch or so of sleet, and a dusting of snow. Three days later, it's pretty much gone. The only problem is, the little lake near my home STILL has ice on it. I guess the water was just cold enough that when the sleet started coming down, it didn't immediately melt when it hit the water. It formed a layer of slush on top, then froze solid during the night. Now casting practice for me until the ice melts off.
it's snowing again... just a little bit, but it snows.. ;o)

I was just reading through this thread. We experienced pretty much what you folks southeast of me did, minus the ice storms. Our city street crews were out almost every other night hauling the snow from the downtown areas and plowing residentials.
I do some snow removal with my walk behind John Deere blower. I have a church, parochial school, museum, and a widow lady to take care of. The church is the toughest one. It sits on a corner lot, plus there's sidewalks on the opposite side from the street, and sidwalks extending into the parking area. Usually an hour and a half there. The others are fairly quick.
Now that my parents are getting up there in age, Dad's soon to be 82, they're not so ambitious to go out in the cold. It always got so bitter cold after the snowstorms we had. So, I added them to my "To Do" list. Up til about 3 weeks ago, I was spending 3 hrs. and and more every other evening after work making my rounds.
Me'n' my John Deere have been enjoying the break, but we still have March and April coming. :bb:

It's either feast or famine in the weather dept. With all the snow we've had the rivers froze. Now we're having a Feb. thaw and all the ice is melting on the river and they're calling for rain the next couple days. The ice jams always cause flooding! The river starts rising and all hell breaks loose. Fortunately I'm far enough away from the Chagrin River but oh those people will end up being evacuated yet again! It's supposed to go up to 60 by Wednesday.
